I actually had a 3 day weekend thanks to having Good Friday off. Saturday I did Kenpo which I like. Feeling pretty good again so Sunday I thought I’d try to get back out on the tennis court. I haven’t played since around October of last year so I thought I’d ease back in with some doubles so I met up with my local tennis Meetup Group for a 1:30 get together. Since it was Easter Sunday turnout was light (about 12 of us) but I got in with a group of players about my skill level (USTA 3.5) and we had several sets of competitive doubles. While the Meetup is a mixed group of men and women it turns out that the women at this event were more casual players ended up playing together so it was men only on my court.
I ended up playing for about 2.5 hours and probably played at least 5 sets. I don’t really keep track since we constantly rotate partners. Having not played for a while I was really pleased with my cardio fitness. While doubles is not nearly as strenuous as singles it is still a great workout if competitive. In addition, it is now Monday morning and I was able to crawl out of bed with out moaning and groaning like I would have last year. I think that’s due to my 30 days of P90X
