Nothing unusual to report. Still chugging away and looking forward to day 60 pics. Hopefully I will see significantly more definition.
Day 52 was KenpoX which I really enjoy. Some complain that it doesn’t give a good workout but I disagree. If you’re not feeling it I suggest two things 1) Get low in the hors stance and 2) On the punching and blocking sequences, really tense your muscles at the end of each block/punch. Don’t lock out the joints but tense up just short of full extension. You get a more intense workout, train your muscles to stop short of full reach and prevent joint damage.
Day 53 was stretchX. I did it for the first time and didn’t like it. Yes, flexibility is important but I’d rather do a cardio workout.
Day 54: Core synergistics. A tougher workout than I remember.
Day 55: YogaX on deck but I hate it so I did CardioX. Surprise! It starts out with Yoga moves. Oh well, I think I’ll sub this for Yoga from now on. A good mix of Yoga, Kenpo and core work.
Day 56: Supposed to be Rest/Stretch but I went ahead and did the Monday routine (Chest/Back/Abs) so I can take my rest day on Monday. I am assistant coach on my little girls Upwards soccer team and I dread having soccer until 7:00 and then daddy duty at home and THEN working out.
Day 57. This is soccer day and I am really feeling chest and back from yesterday.
Side note: I started Creatine about a week ago and yesterday saw a marked increase in the quality and quantity of my push ups. So…is is coincidence, a natural result of 57 days of training, the creatine or some or all of the above. No way to know for sure. But thought it was an interesting observation.
