Day 61-64

3 05 2010

Day 60 was photo day and Yoga day. Skipped yoga – bad, bad olderguy.

Day61 was legs, back and ab ripper.  About 45 minutes into legs and back I had my third near faint ( I had already paused to get  through the first two episodes) and decided that my body was trying to tell me something so I knocked off for the day. Not sure what that was all about.

Day 62 was KenpoX and I was sweatin’ to beat the band. Luckily no fainting or light headed-ness.  Lesson of the day – or rather lesson from the other day. If your body says stop; most of the time you should.

Day63:  I have switched my rest day to Mondays because I coach soccer so I did CST + Ab ripper.  Actually I did ab ripper first because I hate to end with ab ripper for some reason. Anyway, I forgot my creatine today and was feeling kind of weak on my push ups. Psychological or physical. Can’t say, but there it is.

Soccer today. I am secretly hoping for rain.

One last thing. During my recent workouts I have begun to feel more “tight in the cage”. Not that I ever had a big jiggly belly but I just feel tighter in my core – and maybe just the least bit less jiggly. I like it.

Day 44: The man who’s legs exploded

14 04 2010

I took my first dose of Creatine last night and about an hour later did plyometrics.  After I was done my thighs and calves were huge! Absolutely pumped up with not an once of fat. It was incredible!

Alright…I exaggerated a bit. Ok – a lot. No noticeable difference. But over time with logical doses and sticking with the P90X plan it should help me add some bulk.

Unrelated to the Creatine, I really noticed last night that pushing myself hard was felt much more in my muscles than in my breathing.  Quite a contrast from when I started.

My Lucky Day and Even Cheaper Than Walmart

25 06 2008

So I am walking into the drugstore (Rite Aid – Formerly Eckerd’s) to pick up my generic Zocor prescription (simvastatin) and there is a table set up on the sidewalk with two teens behind it. They are doing a raio station promo and hand me a pass for two people to see the new Will Smith movie – Hancock. Sweet!

I go to the pharmacy. Ask for my prescription, thinking to myself that I should have asked my doctor to select the cholesterol medicine that Walmart offers for $4, and guess what. She hands me my prescriotion and says “Thanks”. I ask, “How much is it?” and she says “No charge”. Double sweet.

I thought about going to test drive a car…
